What is BAM Day?
BAM (Body and Mind) Wellness day has been in existence for over 20years at Saco Middle School. It began as “Cabin Fever Reliever” and was intended to give students an opportunity to participate in winter themed activities during a time of year when kids are not typically as active.
Over time, it became “Body and Mind” Wellness day and began to incorporate more focus on lifelong wellness activities that would stimulate both the body and the mind. Students are offered a wide variety of activities that range from vigorous physical activities such as trampoline jumping and rock climbing to lower impact physical activities such as and tubing. There are also activities that stimulate the mind such as reading, puzzles, crafts and more. Activities such as cooking and sports are encourage healthy lifestyle choices. Students are able to choose their activities and we encourage students to try new things. It is our goal to provide activities that appeal to all interests and abilities.
